Where to Rent: Cosplay Costumes in the Philippines

Where to Rent: Cosplay Costumes in the Philippines

Since I noticed many people were looking for where they can rent costumes locally, I figured it was high-time I made a post about recommended places to rent great quality costumes. You may need these for an office party, a one-time photoshoot, or even for a contest. Also, at the end I included my personal notes on renting.

Now let’s start with some Rent Shops / Costume Owners that I know of! In no particular order. I am not affiliated with any of the shops. I’m posting them here based on my experiences with them, based on what I see and hear about them (totally legit and has good feedbacks) and some may be run by acquaintances. The facebook page links are all included so you may contact THEM at their respective pages. Don’t ask me if I rent out my stuff, coz I don’t. xD

HELLO people who are still with me! I, Aki, am reposting after a hiatus since my shop had a lot of orders last month due to Halloween. So now, I’m trying to be back in the blogging loop by posting again! Today I’ll share some stuff going on in life, photos of me in my Kid cosplay, and about Cosplay Cards.

Last Sunday, my siblings and I went to Fantasy Quest for the first time! I’ve been planning to go to the event since the first time they started the event three years ago. I have seen lots of good photos with great scenery from the cosplayers who have shared their event photos, but as tickets weren’t so accessible then (and on-site ticket selling was not yet confirmed in the first two years) there was slight discouragement to attend on my part. (But that was because I am a lazy girl who don’t want to line up in banks for a bank deposit, and now hurray to online banking.)

Oh-No Manga! 2013 Recap

Oh-No Manga! 2013 Recap

This is a very late re-cap post of Oh No! Manga Cosplay Camp last July 7. Joey and I decided to attend the event to have some much-deserved, much-wanted fun and relaxation. We barely have photos of any cosplayers since we ourselves just chilled out and later wandered around Mall of Asia. Here are some photos of the event though, for those that are curious of what went-on.

Photoshop Tips for Cosplayers

Photoshop Tips for Cosplayers

sh0p9

Quite awhile ago I found a question in the local Cosplay Ask group on Facebook. The question was how you make your skin like the reference posted–totally even skintone, heck, without even the trace of an eyebag or puffiness. I don’t know if it’s even realistic, since it’s really doll-like in quality at best. It’s a popular look for Asian cosplayers.

While I love make-up and I think it’s the best solution to that problem–quality products used,  good concealer, etc–we can’t deny that such things are already “retouched” and post-processed. So here I present to you…

Quick and Simple (and Cheap!): Prop Sword

Quick and Simple (and Cheap!): Prop Sword

It’s Quick and Simple time–and this time, Cheap too! We’re making a Prop sword for your cosplays (or school project needs) that’s made of cheap, recycled materials that you might already all have at home!

First, I suggest you check on this tutorial by Crimson Shirou (click here for link!) as this step-by-step of my own was inspired by his. The tutorial from Crimson Shirou will result in a sturdier, more durable sword, while mine below uses more economical and easy-to-acquire materials (especially if you live in the Philippines).
